Solar street light controller is the core component of the entire solar integrated street light. The quality of solar integrated street light controller directly affects the life of solar integrated street light, especially the life of battery.

Solar integrated street light controller now mainly charges the battery in three stages. The first stage is MPPT charging or PWM charging, the second stage is constant voltage equalization charging, and the third stage is constant voltage floating charging. Intelligent battery charging and discharging management based on temperature compensation greatly extends the battery life, thereby extending the service life of solar integrated street lights.

The following points should be considered when selecting a controller:

1. First of all, it must have perfect protection functions, such as battery charging overvoltage protection, battery discharge undervoltage protection, battery and solar panel reverse connection protection, LED output short circuit protection, protection against battery discharge to solar panel at night, lightning protection and other protection functions.

2. The higher the charging efficiency and constant current drive LED light efficiency, the better. High charging efficiency can save solar panels, and high constant current drive LED light efficiency can save battery power, which can achieve more energy-saving, more environmentally friendly and lower cost overall.

3. It must have light control function, three-stage time control function, dimming function, and be able to intelligently drive LED lights.

(1) Light control function: when the solar panel is exposed to sunlight, the solar panel battery voltage reaches the starting voltage, the LED street light goes out, and the solar panel starts to charge the battery. Conversely, the LED light is on and the battery is discharged.

(2) The time control function is generally a three-stage time control function, which can be used to set the LED light in three stages, with each stage lighting for a few hours, generally 3 hours + 3 hours + 2 hours, for a total of 8 hours. Of course, it can also be set to only light for 6 hours.

(3) The dimming function is to set the brightness of the LED light in advance, such as setting the LED light brightness to 100% in the first 3 hours, 50% in the second 3 hours, and 30% in the third 2 hours.
