Are solar lights windproof?

Time:2024-12-14 Views:

In the process of taking some protective measures for solar street lights, wind and lightning protection must be done. Of course, the degree should be based on the local weather and climate. In some areas, the wind is relatively strong, and the wind protection measures of solar street lights must be in place, otherwise it will directly affect its lighting effect.

Solar lights have a certain windproof ability. The windproof design of solar lights is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

‌Solid foundation‌: The foundation of solar lights is usually cast with C20 concrete. The selection of anchor bolts and the foundation depth will vary according to the height of the lamp pole. For example, a 6-meter lamp pole should use bolts of Φ20 or more, and the foundation depth should be greater than 1200mm; a 10-meter lamp pole should use bolts of Φ22 or more, and the foundation depth should be greater than 1300mm; a 12-meter lamp pole should use larger bolts, and the foundation depth should be greater than 1400mm. This design helps to enhance the stability of the foundation, thereby improving wind resistance.

‌LED lamp selection‌: LED lamps are one of the main components of solar lamps. Aluminum alloy lamps are usually preferred, requiring moderate thickness, and no cracks or holes are allowed in the lamp body. The joints of each component must have good contact points. It is recommended to use spring buckles and install two to prevent the components from falling off.

‌Thickening plating of street light poles: The wall thickness of street light poles should be 2.75mm or more, hot-dip galvanized inside and outside, the galvanized layer thickness is more than 35μm, and the flange thickness is 18mm. The top and flange of the street light pole should be welded to the ribs to ensure the strength of the bottom of the pole.

‌DC controller: The DC controller can ensure that the battery pack will not be damaged by overcharging or over-discharging, and has functions such as light control, time control, temperature compensation, lightning protection and reverse polarity protection. These functions help improve the overall safety and stability of solar lights.
